NHS releases digital playbooks, featuring West of England Carey McClellan’s solution, getUBetter

Posted on 26th February

NHSX has released a series of digital playbooks, providing clinical teams and organisations with digital resources to support and improve the delivery of patient pathways.

The digital playbooks, which have been created in the areas of cardiology, musculoskeletal (MSK), respiratory and eye care, have been developed to support clinical teams to reimagine and redesign care pathways by showcasing tried and tested technologies to solve real-world problems.

The new playbooks aim to showcase the use of digital ways of working to improve health outcomes for patients.

Containing more than 90 case studies of how technology is being used to solve clinical challenges, the series features West of England innovator Carey McClellan’s solution, getUBetter, within its musculoskeletal (MSK) playbook.

getUBetter is an evidence-based digital self-management platform for all common musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries and conditions. Its aim is to provide true local self-management support, helping patients to trust their recovery and have the confidence to use less healthcare resource.

The West of England AHSN has supported Carey on his innovation journey since 2013, initially with early ownership of content and ideas/intellectual property, and then with business strategy development through our Health Innovation Programme. We continue to provide ongoing business support to all our innovators, such as the creation of networking opportunities or helping to write bids for funding.

If you are a healthcare innovator looking for business development support and tools, do get in touch with us at the West of England AHSN. We can help on your journey.
