“The Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) is an NHS England funded initiative led by the Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) to develop technology solutions for known healthcare challenges.“
Chris Padgett, Innovation Exchange Coordinator

SBRI Healthcare is an NHS England funded initiative led by the Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) to develop technology solutions for known healthcare challenges. The next funding round focuses on finding innovative solutions with the ability to transform integrated care, social care, effective data sharing and workforce pressure.

There is currently a drive to transform the NHS and social care system to address the growing, and increasingly unsustainable, pressures faced by the system. This drive includes initiatives to transform the health and care workforce, to integrate health and care to better meet the needs of the population and to expand and improve access to health and social care.

Details of the background, challenges and expected outcomes of the projects can be found on the SBRI website. There are also two briefing events (1st July & 10th July) for this call, which you can find on our events page.

SBRI Healthcare welcome applications from companies with solutions that can enhance the screening, diagnosis or management of cancer. Successful applicants can receive up to £100,000 of funding for phase one (feasibility) and up to £1 million for phase two (development) for solutions that match the needs of the NHS.
