Are you a healthcare / life sciences entrepreneur with a healthcare innovation idea or start-up? Apply for a place on the Health Innovation Programme (HIP) to test the validity of your business model, understand how to navigate the NHS as a marketplace and receive specialist healthcare business development support.

An intensive, fully funded training programme, usually run over five half days, the HIP is an interactive and immersive experience, delivering high quality coaching, mentoring, and specialist healthcare business development support, with experts from SETSquared and the Academic Health Science Networks.

Many healthcare entrepreneurs find the NHS business landscape difficult to navigate, which is why we created the Health Innovation Programme (HIP) in partnership with SETsquared, to specifically address the needs of healthcare innovators and cover core skills in entrepreneurship. The programme has been running since 2015 and is considered by many innovators as a critical component of their healthcare innovation journey.

The programme is suitable for early-stage innovators or entrepreneurs (from either clinical or commercial backgrounds) with an idea for a health-based product or service, that has the potential to improve patient care, reduce costs and help us to live healthier lives.

Upon completion of the programme, you will be able to identify the optimum customer base for your business, explain the value of your proposition to the health sector and understand how to navigate the NHS as a marketplace.

Priority is given to applicants employed in the geographical boundaries of the West of England AHSN and South West AHSN. This includes Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Applications from the geographical boundaries of Wessex AHSN and KSS AHSN will also be considered.
