Innovate UK invites you to apply for the Global Business Innovation Programme comprising a programme of support and a fully funded visit to South Korea to explore opportunities for technology transfer and innovation collaboration.

Delivered by Enterprise Europe Network, selected applicants will benefit from an unrivalled programme of pre and post visit support and an intensive 5 day in-country itinerary with opportunities to visit medical centres and clusters, the Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) and meet digital heath companies with the aim of creating opportunities for technology collaboration.

Who should apply

Applications are invited from SMEs developing digital health technology associated with using big data and AI, as well as devices and solutions that use digital technology to accelerate and improve healthcare outcomes, who have a strong desire to collaborate with South Korean partners and can demonstrate the capability for international cooperation.

WHY SOUTH KOREA?

Home to global brands such as Samsung and LG South Korea is the 11th largest global economy, has one of the strongest IT infrastructures and a demanding and technology embracing population. With an ambition to become a world-leading medical hub the South Korean government and large University hospitals are investing heavily to transform the healthcare system and deliver more tailored medical services and better health outcomes.

With current R&D innovation strategy focusing on greater investment into SMEs and international collaboration and with significant UK- SK bilateral funding opportunities, this is a market which offers great opportunity for UK SMEs developing digital health solutions.

FUNDING

Flights and six nights’ accommodation (one representative per company) will be funded through the Global Business Innovation Programme. The visit will take place from the 14 to 21 March 2020.
