The West of England Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) is hosting a free online webinar for the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector in the West of England.

An introduction to the NHS as a marketplace is the second webinar in a free online learning series that introduces the basics of getting ready to work alongside local health and care systems.

In this 60-minute session, Deputy Director of Innovation and Growth at the West of England AHSN, Alex Leach, will attempt to demystify some of the complexities of the health and care sector and detail the support available to you when thinking about working with NHS organisations.

The session will specifically cover core topics such as:

  • NHS structures, including Integrated Care Systems
  • Who are the various customers within healthcare?
  • Why are the different customers motivated to buy?
  • What are the decision-making units within the NHS – who will buy, use and purchase the service?
  • NHS priorities

This free event is aimed at small VCFSE organisations and start-ups registered in the West of England, who are delivering services that aim to improve the health and lives of their local communities, and who may be interested in a future partnership with their local ICS. The bite-size series aims to support you in getting ready work alongside your local Integrated Care System (ICS).
