Join the AHSN Network in partnership with the Canadian AGE-WELL network for the third in its joint series of healthy ageing events. ‘The role of robotics in supporting care for older adults’ will feature three presentations from international leaders in this space: Dr. François Michaud, Dr. Hannah Bradwell and Dr. Praminda Caleb-Solly.

Robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) are making increasing impact in many sectors. While we are most familiar with industrial robots and factory automation, service robots, which includes systems for use in domestic, personal, and healthcare settings, is becoming one of the fastest growth areas.

Social care in Europe and North America is under unprecedented pressure due to our ageing population. This challenge will not be solved through technology alone, nevertheless, we have a history of responding effectively to such crises through creativity and invention. Innovation, including through advanced robotic and autonomous systems, can have an important role to play.

This seminar will highlight some of the opportunities and challenges of using RAS in care and health settings, and how they might enable older people to live well independently.

This is the third webinar in a series of joint events hosted by Canada and England, focusing on innovation in healthy ageing. If you are a ‘healthy ageing’ innovator in the UK, interested in how robotics and autonomous systems could enable older adults to live well independently, then join this free one-hour webinar.
